During our chat with Keely, we realised we were standing in front of a true singing enthusiast. Not only does the sunny girl have a karaoke system at home, she also goes for KTV sessions with her friends and older sister twice every two weeks.

“The KTV is not a must-go. But if I don’t go, I’ll feel like I miss singing very much,” the girl shared in between her signature low-pitched laughs. “There is a greater variety of songs at the KTV.”

In fact, Keely also told us that their KTV sessions are usually “crazy” as they would sing and dance along (barefooted on the chairs, no less) to the music videos of fast tracks such as Di Yi Tian by Sun Yanzi and Get High by F.I.R. Not surprising, as Keely said that she is almost always laughing and “looking crazy” even when she is walking on the streets with her friends.

“I am always the one who makes the others laugh like crazy…somehow the things that I do or the things that I say, though unintended, make my friends laugh. For example, I was SMS-ing Zijie the other day and I wanted to say “wo you xiao de xin ling (my young mindset)”. I worded it in English as ‘my small young heart’, and he burst out laughing in class when he saw the SMS.”
Nearing the end of our chat, Keely amused us with this reply: “I would like to be sweet someday too.”
